Welcome to the Oakland Medical Reserve Corps
The Oakland Medical Reserve Corps was established to enlist active and retired medical professionals and citizen volunteers to assist in the establishment of an organized pool of resources capable of being deployed to support Emergency Management Systems already in place in the event of a major emergency.
The Mission of the Oakland Medical Reserve Corps is to develop partnerships within the Bay Area that aid in the education, training and deployment of citizen volunteers and resources in the event of a large local medical emergency.
One of the main objectives for the Oakland Medical Reserve Corps is to assist the City of Oakland and Alameda County Public Health with the distribution of mass prophylaxis.
Our goals are to establish an experienced and dynamic cadre of volunteer medical professionals capable of deployment in supporting roles providing additional resources to augment those services in the community that are engaged in the health and welfare of our citizens.
We are also in the process of developing a program for providing child care exclusively for First Responders, Disaster Service Workers and MRC volunteers during a prolonged or catastrophic event.
